The last lock on the Canal Du Midi (if you cycled the same direction as me of course)!
Unfortunally the distance panel has dissapeared here as well, just like at the previous two locks. From here to the Bassin de Thau you cycle through some tall grasses (bamboo?) which is a nice change of scenery. The path is not wide, so if you meet someone going the other direction you both will have to stop to pass each other. Oh well, it is still a blast!
There is an épanchoir (drain) right before this lock. This épanchoir was needed to let excess water from the Herault River bypass the lock. Once the Prades lock was build in 1868, the épanchoir became less usefull.
