Distance: ~25 Km depending on which beach you go to. This route follows the Canal de la Robine and is clearly marked with signs. Getting lost is thus next to impossible. The path is in good condition. You are out in the open with little protection from wind or sun.
0,0 Km Starting in Narbonne at the Écluse de Narbonne (next to the tourist office), head south along the left bank of the canal. This is the same side of the canal as the tourist office is on. You will have to cycle along the road until you get to the new theatre in Narbonne.
7,8 Km Arrive at the Le Grand Mandirac. Turn left and follow signs for Gruissan. If you miss this exit, you can continue to the Écluse de Mandirac (+1km) and follow signs to Gruissan. Keep following signs to Gruissan.
15,0 Km Arrive in Gruissan. Turn left and head towards the casino. If you want to visit the village of Gruissan, you can turn right instead.
23 Km Arrive in Narbonne Plage.
28 Km Arrive in St Pierre Sur Mer
0,0 Km Starting in Narbonne at the Écluse de Narbonne (next to the tourist office), head south along the left bank of the canal. This is the same side of the canal as the tourist office is on. You will have to cycle along the road until you get to the new theatre in Narbonne.
8,8 Km Arrive at the Écluse de Mandirac. Continue straight followig sign for "Ile St Lucie."
19 Km Arrive at the Écluse Sainte-Lucie. Continue straight on the same side of the canal with your bike.
21,7 Km Cross under metal railroad bridge and turn left onto large paved road without name. This road is located close to the end of the canal and between the metal railroad bridge and the highway bridge. See picture 1 below. You can also continue straight and pass underneath the highway bridge, but there might be homeless people under the bridge that could bother you.

21,779 Km Join roundabout and take second exit to cross bridge, direction CENTRE VILLE, road number D703. Once across the bridge, turn left with direction PLAGES (beaches).

The beaches are nice along this part of the Mediterranean Sea. Water temperatures are cold though. One must also be aware of strong rip tides that can easily carry you out to sea. It is thus very important to never go to far into the water: people drown frequently.
