Bike path side: south
The Canal Du Midi crosses the small Jouarres creek using an aqueduct. It is one of the three original aqueducts constructed by Paul Riquet during the construction of the Canal Du Midi. The other two original aqueducts are pont-canal de l'Aiguille and the pont-canal du Répudre.
The Jouarres creek got diverted in the past to supply the nearby Jouarres Lake (north of the Canal Du Midi). This lake is a great spot to go for a swim! Similarly, Homps and Olonzac are a great place for an overnight stop on your bicycle adventure. Drop off the bikes at your overnight accomodation, and after that go for a swim at the Jouarres Lake. You can also wind surf, rent a canoe, or go fishing in this lake.
