PK (Point Kilométrique): 178.085

Year of Construction: 1674

Bike path side: south

The bridge was completed in 1684. The Relais de Pigasse subsequently welcomed travelers having taken not only the canal but also the Minervoise road.

Right next to the bridge you can see 3 slots carved into the canal bank.  Large wooden planks could be inserted into these slots to isolate segments of water in order to partially empty the canal.  Remember that there are no locks for 54 Km on this part of the canal.  If work had to be done somewhere on this 54 km stretch of canal, it would be impractical to empty out the whole thing.  So these 3 slots were put in place instead.  Similar slots can be seen elsewhere, for example at the Malpas tunnel.
